Well, now, let me tell ya about this Yellowstone show. It’s all about them Dutton folks and their big ol’ ranch. Big ranch, big problems, that’s what I say.
Old John Dutton, he’s the boss man. Ran that ranch with his wife Evelyn, but she ain’t around no more. Passed on back in ’97, they say. John’s daddy told him to never let go of that ranch, and he’s holdin’ on tight, like a tick on a dog’s back.
This John, he’s got a bunch of kids, all grown up now. And they got their own problems, let me tell ya. There’s Kayce, he’s a tough one, always gettin’ into trouble. And Jamie, well, he’s the smart one, but sometimes smart ain’t enough. They fight and squabble, just like any family, but when it comes to that ranch, they stick together…mostly.
- Rip: He’s branded, you know, like cattle. Loyal to John Dutton, though.
- Kayce: John’s boy, got that brand too. Tough as nails.
- Jimmy: He used to be a screw up, now he’s a cowboy on another ranch
- Walker: Another branded fella. Sings them cowboy songs.
- Wade: He’s trouble, always causing problems but ended up being branded.
- Teeter: Tough as they come, got that Yellowstone brand and she works like a man.
- Colby: Another ranch hand. Got branded too.
- Ryan: Works on the ranch, got that brand.
- Lloyd: Old timer, been with the Duttons a long time. He’s branded as well.
They got all sorts of folks workin’ on that ranch. Cowboys, mostly. They ride horses, rope cattle, and get into fights. It’s a hard life, but they seem to like it. Or maybe they just don’t know no better.
Now, about that brandin’. It ain’t just for cows, you know. Them Duttons, they brand their loyal folks too. It’s like a mark of ownership, I guess. Or maybe it’s a sign of respect. Hard to say with them folks.
And there’s all sorts of other folks comin’ and goin’. Folks tryin’ to take the land, folks tryin’ to make a buck, folks just tryin’ to survive. It’s a wild place, that Yellowstone. Not for the faint of heart, that’s for sure.
They even got this young fella, Finn Little, he’s in it too. Kid’s been on other shows, I hear. He’s a good actor, that one. Makes you believe he’s one of them cowboys, even though he’s just a young’un.
And if you like the show so much, you can go and buy all sorts of stuff with that Yellowstone name on it. Shirts, hats, mugs, you name it. They got a whole store for it, online and all. People go crazy for that stuff, I tell ya. Makes you wonder if they care more about the show or the stuff they can buy.
But that’s the way of the world now, ain’t it? Everything’s for sale. Even a story about a family fightin’ to keep their land. But I guess that’s alright. As long as they keep makin’ the show, I’ll keep watchin’ it. It’s somethin’ to do, you know? And sometimes, it’s even a little bit entertainin’.
So, that’s the story of Yellowstone, as best as I can tell it. It’s about family, loyalty, and fightin’ for what you believe in. And it’s about a whole bunch of cowboys ridin’ around on horses, gettin’ into trouble. What more could you want from a TV show?
