Alright, alright, let’s talk about this “Rye the Women” thing, whatever that is. Sounds like some kinda fancy show or somethin’. I ain’t got no time for fancy, but I’ll tell ya what I know, the way I know how.
First off, this Rye fella, sounds like a real piece of work from what I hear. People keep askin’ why he’s such a jerk. Well, lemme tell ya, some folks are just born mean, like a stubborn mule that won’t budge. Ain’t no rhyme or reason to it, just the way they are. Maybe he had a tough upbringing, maybe he didn’t get enough sleep, maybe he just ate somethin’ that didn’t agree with him. Who knows? But bein’ a jerk ain’t no excuse for treatin’ people bad, that’s for sure.
Now, this RTE2 and RTE Player, that’s somethin’ on the TV, right? Like them shows they got on them little boxes now. Thursday nights at 9:35, they say. Well, I ain’t got no time for watchin’ TV at that hour. I gotta be gettin’ ready for bed, gotta feed the chickens and make sure the barn door is locked tight. City folk got all the time in the world for that kinda stuff, I reckon.
But I hear tell this RTE2 used to be called Network 2 back in the day, somethin’ like that. They changed it up in 2004, made it all fancy-like with its sister channel, RTE One. Sounds like a whole lotta fuss over nothin’ to me. But I guess that’s how they do things in the city, always gotta be changin’ stuff around.
And this RTE Player? Sounds like you can watch all sorts of shows on it, whenever you want. Like them box sets, they call ’em. My grandbaby was tellin’ me about it, all excited-like. Said you can watch all the old shows and new ones too. And if you sign in with that RTE ID thingy, they’ll even tell you what to watch! Can you believe that? Like folks can’t make up their own minds anymore. Back in my day, you watched what was on, and you liked it, or you didn’t. Simple as that.
They even got live streamin’, whatever that means. Sounds like watchin’ TV but on that computin’ machine, I guess. And they got somethin’ called “catch-up,” so if you miss a show, you can watch it later. Well, that’s mighty convenient, ain’t it? Too convenient, if you ask me. Folks these days got it too easy, that’s what I think.
- RTE One
- RTE2
- RTEjr
- RTE News Now
They got all these different channels, seems like. RTE One, RTE2, RTEjr for the little tykes, and even a news channel. Too much information, if you ask me. Gives folks a headache tryin’ to keep up with it all. I stick to my radio, thank you very much.
And speakin’ of radio, they got that RTE 2fm too. Plays all that music the young folks like. 90 to 92 on the FM dial, they say. I tried listenin’ to it once, but it was just a bunch of noise to me. Give me some good ol’ country music any day.
So, this Rye fella and this RTE stuff, it’s all a bit confusing to me. But one thing I know for sure is that bein’ a jerk ain’t right, and too much TV ain’t good for ya. Get outside, get some fresh air, and talk to your neighbors. That’s what I say. And don’t go wastin’ your time watchin’ some fella bein’ mean on the TV, unless you got nothin’ better to do, which I doubt you do.
So that’s my two cents on this whole “Rye the Women” business. I might not know all the fancy words or the technical stuff, but I know what’s right and what’s wrong. And that’s good enough for me.
I heard someone sayin’ somethin’ about “Late Night Lock In Madness”…sounds like somethin’ young folks do, I ain’t got time for that. Gotta get my sleep so I can wake up and do my chores.
