Alright, let’s talk about them wide leg pants, the short kind, you know? The ones that don’t drag on the ground and get all muddy when you’re doing chores. Yeah, those. I seen some gals wearin’ ‘em, lookin’ all fancy-like. And I figured, heck, maybe I can too, even if I ain’t no spring chicken no more.
First thing’s first, you gotta get the right kind of pants. Don’t go buyin’ no flimsy, flowy things, unless you wanna look like a sack of potatoes. You want pants that got some shape to ‘em, you hear? Stiff-like, not all floppy. That way, they don’t just hang there like you ain’t got no shape yourself.
Now, how long should them pants be? That’s the big question, ain’t it? Well, I seen some girls wearin’ ‘em real short, like right in the middle of their calf. Kinda like them old-timey gaucho pants, you know? Them’s alright, I guess. But if you want somethin’ a bit longer, go for just below the knee. Don’t want ‘em draggin’ on the ground, remember? Ankle-length is good too, but make sure they ain’t too long.
What to wear on top? That’s another thing. You can wear a loose top if you want, but then you gotta tuck it in. Otherwise, you look all shapeless and…well, like a big ol’ blob. I ain’t sayin’ you ARE a blob, mind you. Just sayin’ the clothes can make you look that way. Tucking in your shirt, it shows off your waist, see? Makes you look like you got a middle, not just one big…thing. You could also tie your shirt in a knot, kinda casual-like. That works too.
- Shirts Tucked In: Shows your waist, makes you look slimmer.
- Knotted Shirts: Gives a casual look, still defines your waist.
- Fitted Tops: Another good way to show off your shape. Not too tight though, you don’t wanna look like you’re squeezed in there.
Now, shoes. That’s important. I ain’t talkin’ about no fancy high heels, not unless you wanna break your neck out in the garden. But you don’t wanna wear no clunky boots either, unless you’re goin’ to a barn dance, I guess. I like them ballet flats, the ones that are kinda pointy at the end. Makes your legs look longer, you know? You can wear the round-toe ones too, but the pointy ones are better, I think. And get ‘em in a color that matches your skin, or maybe with a little print on ‘em. Nothin’ too flashy, though.
Color is important too. I seen some gals wearin’ bright colors, like red and yellow. That’s alright if you’re young and fancy-free, I guess. But for us older gals, somethin’ a bit more…calm is better. Black is always good, goes with everything. Navy blue, brown, gray, them’s good colors too. And you can always add a little somethin’ somethin’ with a scarf or a necklace, you know? Just a little bit of color, not too much.
And don’t forget about your undergarments! Now, I ain’t gonna get into details here, but let’s just say you want somethin’ that’s smooth and doesn’t bunch up under your pants. Nobody wants to see lumps and bumps where they ain’t supposed to be, right? So make sure you got the right…foundation, you understand?
So there you have it, my advice on wearin’ them wide leg short pants. It ain’t rocket science, you know? Just gotta find the right fit, the right length, and the right top and shoes. And most important of all, you gotta feel comfortable in what you’re wearin’. If you ain’t comfortable, you ain’t gonna look good, no matter what. So go on, try it out. You might just surprise yourself.
And remember, it don’t matter if some fancy designer fella says it’s in style or not. You wear what makes you feel good and what’s practical for gettin’ things done. That’s what I always say. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go feed the chickens.
One last thing, don’t go spendin’ a fortune on these pants, you hear? You can find good ones at the thrift store or on sale. Ain’t no need to pay a whole lotta money just to look decent. Save that money for somethin’ important, like good food and bills.
