Alright, let me tell you about this eyeliner thing, this “eyeliner precision” or whatever you call it. You know, the stuff you put around your eyes to make ’em look bigger or something. Now, I ain’t no fancy makeup artist, but I’ve seen the young girls fussin’ with it, and I figured I’d give it a try myself.
First off, getting that line straight ain’t easy. My hands, they ain’t as steady as they used to be. You need a real steady hand to make it look nice, otherwise, you end up lookin’ like a raccoon with a black eye! You gotta hold that little pencil tight, and go real slow, right along your eyelashes. And don’t you go pullin’ on your skin too much, or you’ll get wrinkles faster than a prune in the sun.
- Some folks, they use those liquid liners, with a little brush. Looks fancy, but oh boy, it’s messy. One wrong move and you got black stuff all over your face. I prefer the pencils, they’re easier to control, like writin’ with a pencil instead of a drippy pen.
- And then there’s the colors. Black is the usual, I guess, but I seen some girls with blues and greens and even sparkles! Sparkles? On your eyes? What will they think of next! I stick to the plain black, keeps things simple.
Now, some folks say you gotta do that “cat eye” thing, with the little flick at the end. Makes your eyes look like a cat’s, I guess. Tried it once, ended up lookin’ like I got poked in the eye with a stick. Not for me, that’s for sure. Just a straight line is good enough for this old gal.
And another thing, you gotta make sure you get the eyeliner that stays put. I bought one of them cheap ones once, and by lunchtime, I looked like I was cryin’ black tears! Not a good look, let me tell ya. Spend a little extra, get the one that stays where you put it. They say it’s “waterproof” or somethin’.
Some folks say you need special brushes and creams to clean up the edges and make it perfect. Concealer, they call it. Well, I ain’t got time for all that fussin’. If I make a mistake, I just wipe it off with a wet cloth and start again. Good enough for me.
And don’t even get me started on takin’ it off at night. You gotta scrub and scrub, and sometimes you still wake up with black smudges under your eyes. Makes you look like you didn’t sleep a wink! They say there’s special makeup remover, but I just use soap and water. Does the trick, mostly.
So, this “eyeliner precision,” it ain’t as easy as it looks. But I guess if you practice enough, you can get the hang of it. Just don’t expect me to be doin’ no fancy designs anytime soon. A simple line is all I need to make these old eyes look a little bit brighter.
And another thing, don’t be afraid to ask for help. If you’re not sure how to do it, ask your friends or even the folks at the store where you buy the makeup. They’ll show you how to do it right, and maybe even recommend some good products that won’t smudge all over your face.
At the end of the day, it’s all about makin’ yourself feel good, ain’t it? If a little bit of eyeliner makes you feel prettier, then go for it. Just don’t go overboard, and remember, natural beauty is the best kind.
