Alright, so you’re lookin’ for one of them electric bikes, huh? But you’re a bit on the shorter side, like me. Don’t you worry none, there’s plenty of them bikes out there for us shorties. It’s just a matter of findin’ the right one. Let me tell ya what I know, seein’ as I’ve been lookin’ around myself.
First off, you gotta think about the size of the thing. You don’t want a big ol’ monster you can’t even climb onto, right? So, you gotta look for what they call “frame size“. That’s just how big the bike’s body is. Smaller frame, better for us short folks. Makes sense, don’t it?
Then there’s the wheels. Big wheels are nice and all, roll over bumps real good, but they can make the bike too tall. So, maybe look for smaller wheels. Not too small, mind you, or you’ll be wobblin’ all over the place. Just gotta find the right balance, you know?
And get this, the handlebars matter too! If they’re too wide, you’ll be stretchin’ out like a goose, and that ain’t comfortable. You want them handlebars just right, so you can steer easy and sit up straight.
Now, there’s different kinds of these electric bikes. Some of ’em, you gotta pedal to get the motor goin’. They call that “pedal-assist“. That’s good if you want a little exercise, you know, keep them legs movin’. Then there’s the ones with a “throttle“. That’s like a motorcycle, just twist and go! Those are fun, but you gotta be careful, they can go pretty fast.
- Class 1: Pedal-assist only, goes up to 20 miles per hour. Good for a little workout.
- Class 2: Throttle and pedal-assist, also goes up to 20 miles per hour. Easy ridin’.
- Class 3: Pedal-assist only, but goes faster, up to 28 miles per hour. For when you gotta get somewhere in a hurry.
I heard tell there’s some places you can’t go over 20 miles per hour with the motor, somethin’ about a “federal speed limit“. Guess they don’t want us old folks zoomin’ around too fast, huh? And each state might have its own rules too, so you best check on that before you go buyin’ somethin’ fancy.
Now, where to buy one of these things? Well, I seen ’em on that “eBay” thing my grandson talks about. They got all sorts of stuff on there, they say. And there’s that “Rakuten” place too. Seems like everybody’s buyin’ stuff online these days. Me, I still like goin’ to the store, seein’ things with my own eyes. But online might be cheaper, who knows?
If you’re buyin’ online, you gotta be careful though. Make sure you’re gettin’ a good one, from a good company. Read them “reviews“, see what other folks are sayin’. And if somethin’ breaks, you want to make sure you can get it fixed. Some of these bikes got all sorts of wires and gizmos, and if somethin’ goes wrong, you don’t want to be stuck with a lemon.
I saw one bike called the “Jasion EB7 2.0“. Said it had a 500W motor. Don’t know what that means exactly, but sounds powerful! And it was supposed to be “affordable”, which is good, ’cause I ain’t made of money, you know? They said it was good for commutin’ or just ridin’ around for fun. That sounds nice.
Oh, and one more thing. If somethin’ ain’t workin’ right on your bike, like the motor stops or the screen goes blank, it might be a “connection” problem. You gotta check all them wires, make sure they’re plugged in tight. If you can’t figure it out, you might have to take it to a shop, get someone to fix it for ya.
So, there you have it. That’s all I know about these electric bikes for short people. Just remember to find one that fits you right, don’t go too fast, and make sure you buy from a good place. And most importantly, have fun ridin’!
