Real or Fake? The Story Behind the Snake Death in Friday the 13th

Well now, lemme tell ya somethin’ ‘bout that snake in Friday the 13th. Y’all probably seen the movie where they go all crazy over a snake in the cabin, right? It’s that part where Alice, she’s the gal in the cabin, and she spots a snake just mindin’ its own business. She starts screamin’ like she’s seein’ a ghost, callin’ for help, and next thing ya know, the fellas come in and take care of it. But let me tell ya, that snake wasn’t no villain, it was just doin’ what snakes do, slitherin’ around.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I know it’s all part of the movie, but what I can’t get over is how everybody flipped out like it was the end of the world. Like, they was actin’ like that snake was some kind of monster. It wasn’t no big, scary snake either, it was just a regular ol’ bull snake. And, mind you, that snake didn’t even have any evil plans—no, it was just mindin’ its own business when all them folks came barging in.

Real or Fake? The Story Behind the Snake Death in Friday the 13th

Now, here’s the kicker: Turns out that snake wasn’t even part of the script, y’see. It was real, like a real-life snake that they got a hold of for the scene. Y’all probably thinkin’, “Ain’t no way they’d use a real snake in a movie.” But yep, they sure did. What’s even worse, the poor thing had no idea what was gonna happen. The snake was just sittin’ there, doin’ what snakes do best, when the actors and the crew started freakin’ out.

What happened next was downright sad, if you ask me. They killed the snake right there on screen. I know, I know, some folks might say, “Well, it was part of the movie, it was necessary.” But that’s hard for me to swallow. I mean, why go and kill a harmless creature just for the sake of a scene in a horror movie? Couldn’t they have used some special effects or a fake snake instead?

  • The snake was a bull snake, which don’t harm nobody.
  • It was real, and not a fake one made from rubber or whatever they use for movie props.
  • They had a handler who didn’t even know what was gonna happen to the poor thing.

Now, I ain’t no animal rights activist or nothin’, but I do feel sorry for that snake. It didn’t ask to be in a movie, and it sure didn’t deserve to die just for a scare scene. I reckon that part of the movie wasn’t needed at all. Couldn’t they have just written the snake outta the script somehow? Maybe have it slither away before the characters even noticed it? Wouldn’t that have made more sense? It’s like they just wanted to throw in a bit of unnecessary drama, just for the shock value.

It’s not just the snake that’s the problem, though. That whole movie’s got a lot of senseless violence if you ask me. People goin’ around stabbing each other, and it all just makes me wonder—do we really need all this blood and guts in every movie nowadays? Ain’t no wonder folks get upset over stuff like this, when they keep throwin’ these violent scenes at us.

But, folks still love them horror movies, don’t they? Every Friday the 13th movie after the first one seemed to just get worse and worse. They kept tryin’ to top the last one with bigger and scarier stuff, but at what cost? More blood, more kills, more stuff that ain’t really needed. It’s like they got too carried away with the whole idea of scarin’ people, and now you got a whole bunch of sequels that ain’t much better than the first.

And let’s not forget the real villain of the series—Jason Voorhees. Now that fella’s a whole other story, right? The snake, I can understand, but Jason? He’s the one that keeps poppin’ up in all them sequels, tryin’ to kill folks left and right. Every time I turn around, there he is, lookin’ all creepy, wearin’ that hockey mask. That’s the real terror of Friday the 13th, not a harmless little snake.

  • Jason’s the one that keeps comin’ back, killin’ folks in all kinds of ways.
  • He don’t have no good reason to be killin’ folks, other than just bein’ plain evil.
  • And yet, folks still keep watchin’ ‘em movies, year after year.

So, here’s the thing—whether it’s a snake or some creepy fella in a mask, horror movies are full of stuff that just makes you go, “Why?” But at least, maybe next time, they could leave the innocent creatures alone, and just focus on the monsters and the bad guys instead. It’d be nice if they didn’t go killin’ animals just to get a quick scare outta us. That’s all I’m sayin’.
