Alright, let’s yak about them Mork & Mindy dolls, ya know? I ain’t no expert, but I seen a thing or two, and I can tell ya what I know.
So, these Mork & Mindy dolls, they’re from some old TV show, “Mork & Mindy” it was called. I reckon it was on the TV back in the day, somethin’ like ’78 to ’82, or somethin’ like that. Never watched it myself, too busy with chores and such, but folks seemed to like it.
Now, these dolls, they made ’em look like the folks from the show. There’s Mindy, she’s got a red shirt and blue jeans, plain as day. And then there’s Mork, he’s the one in that funny red getup, got a shiny silver triangle thingy on his chest. Looked like a spaceman or somethin’. He even got a silver backpack, I heard tell you could pull somethin’ on it, make it do somethin’ or other, but I ain’t never seen it work myself.
Heard tell Mattel, that big toy company, they made these dolls back in 1980. That’s a long time ago, ya know? Makes sense why them dolls are getting kinda hard to find now. Folks are always lookin’ for ‘em, collectors and such. They say you can find ‘em on that eBay thing, but I ain’t never messed with that online stuff. Too complicated for an old gal like me.
- Mindy Doll: Red shirt, blue jeans, regular lookin’ gal.
- Mork Doll: Red outfit, silver triangle, backpack thingy. Kinda weird lookin’ if ya ask me.
Now, if you’re lookin’ to buy one, I heard you gotta be careful. Some folks try to sell ya junk, sayin’ it’s somethin’ special. You gotta look close, make sure it’s the real deal. They talk about “mint in box” and all that fancy talk, means it’s brand new, never been played with. But even if it’s been played with, long as it ain’t all beat up, it’s probably worth somethin’.
I seen some folks sellin’ these dolls on that Etsy thing too. Said it was made back in the 80s, but I seen others from 1962, like that Suzy Smart doll. That one ain’t Mork or Mindy, but it’s old and folks like old dolls, I reckon. They all got that roly-poly thing goin on, bottom’s round so they wobble around. Fun for the youngins, I guess, but I always thought they’d tip right over, not like them sturdy wood dolls we had when I was a girl.
I also heard tell that if you find one in the box, it’s worth more. And if the box ain’t all beat up, that’s even better. Some folks, they care more about the box than the doll itself, can you believe it? But that’s how it is with collectin’ stuff, I guess. It’s all about the details.
Now, I ain’t gonna tell ya how much these dolls are worth, ‘cause I don’t rightly know. Prices go up and down, depends on who’s sellin’ and who’s buyin’. But I reckon if you got a real Mork & Mindy doll in good shape, you got somethin’ special. Might be worth hangin’ onto, or maybe sellin’ it to some collector who’ll appreciate it.
And that’s about all I know about them Mork & Mindy dolls. They ain’t my cup of tea, but some folks like ’em, and that’s alright. To each their own, I always say. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I got chores to do.
Where to find ‘em? Well, like I said, eBay seems to be the place folks go. You can probably find all sorts of dolls there, not just Mork & Mindy. But be careful, like I said, there’s always folks tryin’ to pull a fast one. Look at the pictures real good, ask questions, and don’t pay too much if you ain’t sure what you’re gettin’. And don’t forget about that free shipping, that’s a good deal, saves you some money.
So there you have it, my two cents on them Mork & Mindy dolls. Hope it was helpful, or at least entertainin’. Now go on, get outta here, you’re botherin’ me with all these questions!
