Alright, let’s talk about this here brioche sandwich thing. You know, that fancy bread? Yeah, the one that sounds all highfalutin. Well, I’m here to tell ya, it ain’t just for them city folk. We can make a good sandwich outta anything, and brioche ain’t no exception.
First off, what is this brioche anyways? Some kinda fancy French bread, they say. All buttery and soft. Kinda reminds me of them sweet rolls they used to sell at the bakery back home, but not so sugary. Anyways, it makes a darn good sandwich, I’ll tell ya that.
Now, you’re probably thinkin’, “A sandwich is a sandwich, what’s the big deal?” Well, lemme tell ya, the bread makes a difference. You use that ol’ dry white bread, and your sandwich is gonna be dry and boring. But you use this brioche stuff? Oh honey, it’s a whole ‘nother story.
- It’s soft, so it don’t hurt your gums when you bite down.
- It’s got a little sweetness to it, which is nice with salty meats.
- It’s sturdy enough to hold up to all your fixin’s.
So, what kinda sandwiches can you make with brioche? Shoot, just about anything you want! I’ve had it with good ol’ ham and cheese, and let me tell ya, that was somethin’ special. The ham was salty, the cheese was melty, and that bread just soaked up all the flavors. Made my mouth water just thinkin’ about it.
But you ain’t gotta stick to just ham and cheese. You can use any kinda meat you want. Roast beef, turkey, even that bologna stuff they sell at the store. And don’t forget the veggies! Lettuce, tomato, onion… whatever you got in the fridge. Slap it all on there, and you got yourself a meal.
Now, some folks might say brioche is too fancy for a regular ol’ sandwich. They might say it’s only for special occasions. But I say, every day is a special occasion! Why wait for a holiday to treat yourself to somethin’ good? If you wanna eat a brioche sandwich on a Tuesday afternoon, you go right ahead and do it. Nobody’s gonna stop ya.
I even tried makin’ a grilled cheese with it once. Oh lordy, that was somethin’ else. The bread got all crispy on the outside, and the cheese was all gooey and melted on the inside. I added some spinach in there too, just to make it a little healthier, you know. Even my grandkids loved it, and them kids are picky eaters, I tell ya.
And don’t even get me started on breakfast sandwiches. You take some scrambled eggs, some crispy bacon, maybe a little bit of sausage, and slap it all on a brioche bun? That’ll keep you goin’ all morning long. It’s way better than them cardboard-tasting breakfast sandwiches they sell at the fast food joints, I’ll tell ya that much.
So, here’s the bottom line. Brioche might sound fancy, but it’s just bread. And it’s darn good bread at that. Don’t be afraid to use it for your sandwiches. It’ll take ’em to a whole ‘nother level. Trust me on this one, I know what I’m talkin’ about. I’ve been makin’ sandwiches for longer than you’ve been alive, I betcha.
And another thing, if you got some leftover brioche, don’t you go throwin’ it away. You can make bread puddin’ outta it, or even croutons. Just cube it up and toss it in the freezer. Nothin’ goes to waste in my kitchen, no sirree.
So go on, get yourself some brioche and make a sandwich. You won’t regret it. And if you do, well, then you just ain’t got good taste, and that’s all there is to it. But I betcha you’ll like it. Everybody likes a good sandwich, and a brioche sandwich is about as good as it gets.
Anyways, I gotta go now. Got a hankerin’ for a sandwich myself. Think I’ll make me a roast beef with a little bit of horseradish. And you can bet your bottom dollar I’ll be usin’ brioche bread.
