Well, let me tell ya, this “Tech Day of Pink” thing, it’s somethin’ else. Sounds fancy, like them city folks always doin’. But from what I gather, it’s all about wearin’ pink and fightin’ that breast cancer, you know, the sickness that takes too many good women.
They say it’s on October 10th, or maybe somewhere around there. These dates, they always get me confused. But the important thing is, it’s about gettin’ together, all them techy people, and raisin’ some money. Money’s important, gotta have it to fix things, even this cancer thing.
This whole pink thing started a long time ago, way back in 1992 or maybe 1993, by some lady named Evelyn Lauder. Bless her heart, she must’ve been a good soul. She started this whole pink ribbon thing, you know, the little ribbons you see everywhere. Now they got this “Tech Day of Pink” ’cause of her, I guess.
Seems like everybody’s wearin’ pink these days. They got this #PinkAtWipro thing too. That Wipro fella, the CEO, Srini somethin’-or-other, he’s in on it too. Good for him, I say. It’s good to see them big shots doin’ somethin’ for a change.
And it ain’t just about wearin’ pink, mind you. It’s about that metastatic breast cancer too. That’s the real bad one, the one that spreads all over. They got a special day for that too, October 13th, they say. Poor souls, fightin’ that nasty disease. We gotta help ’em.
They say this is the eighth year they’re doin’ this “Tech Day of Pink”. Eight years, huh? Time sure flies. But it’s good they keep doin’ it. Cancer don’t take no breaks, so neither should we. We gotta keep fightin’, keep raisin’ money, and keep wearin’ that pink.
Now, I ain’t no tech person, you know. I can barely work this here phone, let alone a computer. But I get the gist of it. They’re usin’ their fancy gadgets and their big brains to help fight cancer. And that’s a good thing, a real good thing.
They say it’s a global thing too, all over the world. Imagine that, people wearin’ pink everywhere! It makes you feel like you’re not alone, you know? Like there’s a whole army of folks fightin’ alongside ya. And that’s important, ‘specially when you’re battlin’ somethin’ as tough as cancer.
- Wear pink, they say.
- Raise money, they say.
- Help fund research, they say.
It all sounds simple enough, don’t it? But it takes a lot of folks workin’ together to make it happen. And it ain’t just about the big companies, it’s about regular folks like you and me too. Every little bit helps, you know? Even a few dollars can make a difference.
And then there’s this other pink day, the “International Day of Pink”. That one’s about stoppin’ bullies and all that. It’s in April, they say, durin’ the second week. Seems like there’s a lot of pink days goin’ around! But that’s okay, pink’s a good color. It’s the color of hope, they say. And we could all use a little hope now and then.
So, whether you’re a tech whiz or just a regular old person like me, wearin’ pink is a good thing. It shows you care, it shows you’re fightin’, and it shows you’re part of somethin’ bigger than yourself. And that’s what matters, ain’t it? Help those sick women beat the cancer, that’s the biggest thing. God bless them.
